That time of year again is coming up: the time of year when Winnipeggers get together to compete in a Plane Pull contest – flexing their muscles, practicing their chants and wearing outrageous costumes – all in support of United Way of Winnipeg.
This past summer, Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport added another route to its list of destinations: Iceland. And, we are pleased to announce that the carrier, Iceland Express, will be returning next summer to fly a weekly route direct from Winnipeg to Reykjavik, starting in June.
Ever seen a flying saucer in the sky? I haven’t. But I have seen one at the Western Canada Aviation Museum, where a replica of the Avro Avrocar is housed for display. Not as interesting as a flying one, no doubt, but still pretty cool.
