Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc Welcomes New Board Members

December 30, 2011 – Mr. Tom Bryk, Chair of Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce the January 1, 2012 appointments of Mr. Gerry G. Glatz and Mr. James Ross (J.R.) Robinson to the Board.

“I look forward to working with these two new members,” said Chair, Mr. Tom Bryk. “Both bring valuable experience as we work with community and business partners to generate direct employment from air services and facilities, multiplying our economic impact by providing the connectivity needed for trade and tourism.”

Nominated by the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Gerry G. Glatz is the founding owner and President of Teledisc Systems Ltd. and Dataways Corporation Ltd. He serves as Chair of the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Red River Community College BIT Advisory Committee, Private Vocational Institutions Review Committee and on the Board of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce. His past contributions include serving the Winnipeg Biz Association, St. James Village Business Improvement Zone and Manitoba Marketing Network.

Nominated by the Government of Canada, Mr. James Ross (J.R.) Robinson is President & CEO of B.A. Robinson Co Ltd, one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. He is an Honorary Director of the Health Sciences Center Foundation, Director of Winnipeg South Blues, member of the World Presidents Organization, Young Presidents Organization and the United Way Major Donor Campaign. In 2002, Mr. Robinson received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. His past service includes Neeginan Foundation Capital Campaign, Continuity Care Capital Campaign and the Canadian Electrical Distributors Association, Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. A pilot since 1975, he has owned a variety of land and sea aircraft.

The Board of Directors is comprised of up to 15 members; 11 of which are nominated by local public and private sector agencies.
