The Solar Impulse - a solar powered plane - has started a 24 hour test flight, taking off just outside of Geneva, Switzerland.

Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport New Air Terminal Building received its first official travellers today as Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived just after noon. The Royal visit was greeted by over 1500 invited guests, from the Lieutenant Governor to Manitoba’s Premier, WAA executive staff and board, as well as our Goldwing and Silverwing Ambassadors.
At the Western Canada Aviation Museum here in Winnipeg, many different types of planes are on display, reflecting our connection to aviation history. However, all the planes are displayed like they should be: upright, facing one direction, and portrayed in a fashion that is more practical than artistic.
