Five things you need to know before heading to the CAA Summer Drive-In Series

You’ve purchased your car pass, your vehicle has been loaded up and you’re ready for a night out at the movies. But before arriving at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport for the CAA Summer Drive-In Series, there are a few things you need to know.

COVID-19 Protocols:
Any movie goer who is feeling sick or has any symptoms of COVID-19 must stay home even if they sit in a vehicle at all times.

In order to minimize contact between spectators and the drive-in theatre’s staff, there will be no car passes sold on-site. Please purchase your car pass online in advance by visiting YWGmovies.ca. Only those who live together may occupy the same vehicle.

Once you’re at the drive-in theatre, physical distancing must be observed at all times. Stay two metres away from others when accessing the washrooms. The doors and trunks to your vehicle must remain closed during the movie, however, you may open your windows and sunroof. If you choose to watch the movie from outside of your vehicle, you can sit next to it on the driver’s side as long as the windows of the neighbouring vehicle are closed. Sitting in the box of your truck is not permitted.

Due to health regulations, pets are not allowed at the drive-in theatre. Government certified service animals are welcome with proper documentation.

We're Here:
Gates to each movie will open 45 minutes before showtime. There’s no need to arrive any earlier as parking spots are assigned based on your vehicle’s height and not order of entrance. Please show your printed car pass or the emailed barcode on your phone to the drive-in theatre’s staff at the gate upon arrival.

Turn it Up:
To hear the movie, tune your radio to 92.7 FM. If for some reason your sound system drains your vehicle’s battery, CAA will be on hand to provide a boost.

Let’s All Go to the Lobby:
Actually, the lobby will come to you. Popcorn, mini-donuts and Pepsi products are available to purchase throughout the movie via a contactless delivery system. Place your order by going to dextersminidonuts.com on your phone and it will be brought straight to your vehicle. The concession closes 30 minutes before the end of the movie.

To help keep the drive-in theatre’s staff safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic, please do not approach the concession preparation area. We also ask that you take your garbage home with you at the end of the night using the complimentary bags provided by CAA Manitoba.

With Our Community:
Any profits will be donated to three local organizations playing a critical role in Manitoba amid the COVID-19 pandemic: the Health Sciences Centre Foundation COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund, Winnipeg Harvest and United Way Winnipeg.

The CAA Summer Drive-In Series has hired the Winnipeg Rifles to help during movie showings. The junior football club is using the event as a fundraiser with players donating their wages to the team. Members of the Winnipeg Rifles will help you get in and out of the lot safely as well as ensure you have a clear view of the state-of-the-art, HD screen.

Car passes for the CAA Summer Drive-In Series are priced at $30 plus fees. For showtimes and to purchase a car pass, visit YWGmovies.ca.
