Our United Way Breakfast Raised Over $1,000

It was a chilly, damp morning on Wednesday, but the sight of hearty pancakes, delicious sausages and a good cup of coffee were enough to warm everyone up and get ready for the day.

As part of Winnipeg Airports Authority's 2010 United Way campaign goal of raising over $23,000, we held a pancake breakfast in the North Breezeway, inviting everyone from tenants to airline employees to passengers catching an early flight. All were more than happy to enjoy a great breakfast and support a worthy cause.

A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers - who were up early getting everything ready - our sponsors Four Points Sheraton, Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport and HMS Host, and to everyone who bought a plate and contributed to United Way of Winnipeg.

A special thanks goes out to those few passengers who didn't have time - or weren't hungry - for breakfast, but decided to contribute a few bucks non-the-less. We appreciate it!

In all, we raised over $1,000 this morning, a great way to start the 2010 campaign. WAA's next involvement with United Way Winnipeg is on Friday, where we'll be participating in Plane Pull 7. You can read up on that here, and register at their website here.

Until then, here's some photos from today's meal.
