Rescue Ink at YWG

The stars of popular National Geographic television show Rescue Ink flew in to Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport today. Local pet shelter Hull’s Haven Border Collie Rescue invited the animal welfare organization to help bring awareness to animal abuse here in Manitoba, and Canada.

Accompanying them was two of their dogs, Rebel and Jordan. Rebel, a pit bull who is suspected to have been a bait dog to train fighting dogs, was found and adopted in Kentucky. He was very well behaved but obviously happy and excited to be off the plane – and to see so many new faces. Jordan is a white Maltese, who uses a custom made wheelchair to move around. Found last May in New York, this young pup has a surprising amount of energy, even though she can only use her front legs to move around.

Mayor Sam Katz also came down to meet the crew. We think Jordan found a new friend! (see photos below)

Tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 9th) Rocking with Rescue Ink – Rescue Fair and Exhibition will take place at The Forks’ Scotia Bank Band Shell. The guys will be participating in a photo shoot and autograph signing, as well as speaking to the importance of pet rescuing and the human treatment of animals.
