Employees Rock-Out In Support Of United Way

For the second straight year, Winnipeg Airports Authority employees - along with employees from other airport tenants - put their musical talents to the tests as they rocked-out to classic hits on Rockband, all in support of United Way of Winnipeg.

From Kiss to Billy Idol, to Bon Jovi and The Who, those who were waiting for their flights were treated to a great show at the second level food court over last Friday's lunch hour. Each band consisted of four employees - drummer, two guitarists and a singer - and each band paid a fee which went to support United Way of Winnipeg. Lunch was also served, with all proceeds going to the charity.

In total, we raised $745.00, bringing us very close to this year's campaign goal of $23,281. Thank you to everyone who came out to support an excellent cause!

And as an additional thank you to the bands that participated, awards were handed out to the top three, with the best band winning Ozzy Ozbourne tickets. Servisair - pictured below in the flourescent green vests - walked away with the top prize for their performance of the Bon Jovi's 'Living On A Prayer.'
