To Wrap or Not To Wrap? That is the Question.

Did you know that when you bring a wrapped gift as carry-on while traveling, it may be subject to unwrapping at the security check point?

This holiday season, Winnipeg Airports Authority is providing passengers with a self-serve gift wrapping station in support of Hunger for Hope. The station will be set up just past the security checkpoint in the domestic departures area (near T.G.I. Friday’s). Passengers will have the opportunity to re-wrap gifts that may be subject to unwrapping during the screening process.

Cash donations are appreciated in exchange for the station, with all funds collected going directly to Hunger for Hope.

Hunger for Hope is an organization dedicated to ending child hunger in Manitoba. Since starting in 2007, they have raised over 1 million dollars for children in need, and since partnering with WAA in 2010, nearly $28,000 has been collected in airport receptacles. Visit the Hunger for Hope website.

The gift wrapping station will be monitored by WAA’s Goldwing Ambassadors, as well as airport campus employee volunteers.

The station will be set up on Monday, December 17th and remain open until Boxing Day.

Happy holidays!
