Love is in the Air

There’s something about the month of February that brings out the romantic in all of us. Here at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, we were witness to a special surprise marriage proposal last Sunday.

Like a scene from a movie, dressed in a black tuxedo and carrying a dozen red roses, Scott Marohn, our Director of Air Service Development & Industry Relations, proposed to his girlfriend Sandy Leishman at the airport. Sandy was returning from a trip to Houston when Scott surprised her in Arrivals and got down on one knee.

Scott and Sandy are heading to Mexico in a couple of weeks and everyone suspected them to return from vacation tanned and engaged. Scott wanted to surprise Sandy and make sure his proposal was unexpected. Despite the initial shock and excitement, Sandy muttered the word “YES.”

A summer wedding is being planned. Scott and Sandy make a great couple and we’re all excited for them to tie the knot!
