Goldwings Reach New Heights
February 3, 2014
Winnipeg Airports Authority’s Goldwing Ambassadors have reached a new impressive benchmark – our friendly volunteers have logged over 200,000 hours since the program was launched in 1997!
Easy to spot wearing their gold blazers, our Goldwing Ambassadors are volunteers who give their time to assist passengers and other airport visitors, helping to create a positive impression of our city and province.
As a testament to the program’s success, the Goldwing Ambassadors program has been recognized time and time again for ensuring an exceptional visitor experience. Most recently, Winnipeg Airports Authority received the Service Excellence Award on behalf of the Goldwing Ambassadors at the Manitoba Tourism Awards.
The Goldwing Ambassador program has grown over the years. When the program started, there were only 25 volunteers. That number has swelled to 107 volunteers today. Over the life of the program, 273 volunteers have given their time to assist those in need and ensure visitors have had an enjoyable experience while at the airport.
