At this time, there is a strong emphasis on minimizing touch encounters anywhere you go to help protect each other and prevent the spread of COVID-19. YWG took action to suspend its well-loved Valet & Away service at the onset of the pandemic for this reason and is now trialing a new parking option in the existing Valet & Away curb locations. The new VIP Curbside Parking is contactless, straightforward and allows travellers to enjoy independent, prime parking at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
Three things to know about VIP Curbside Parking at YWG:
1) Book online at parkYWG.ca
You must reserve your parking spot in front of the terminal ahead of time by booking online. Select VIP Curbside Parking from the options available. Once you’ve finalized your reservation, don’t forget to print your email confirmation as you will need to display it on the dashboard of your vehicle when you park.
2) Park in front of the terminal at the VIP Curbside Parking signage
All VIP Curbside Parking spots are located only steps away from the terminal. Upon reserving your spot, check your confirmation email for directions on where to park. All spots can be found on the far west side of the terminal near Door 3 on either the Departures or Arrivals Level. Here you will see 13 parking stalls highlighted with VIP Curbside Parking signage. Please be advised, these stalls do not offer plug-ins for vehicles at this time.
3) It’s contactless to prioritize your safety
There is no need to scan a pass, pay at a parking station, or interact with anyone at the airport. Also, you are in possession of your keys at all times. Once you arrive, simply place your printed email confirmation in plain view on the dashboard of your vehicle, walk a few steps into the terminal and continue on your way. When you return from your trip, your vehicle will be waiting for you in the same location, only a minute away from the baggage carousels.
The VIP Curbside Parking option officially launched in January 2021 and is a welcome addition to the parking options available at YWG. The entire parking experience has been reviewed to prioritize the health and safety of all visitors, including the option to pre-book online for a touch-free experience, enhanced cleaning of all parking equipment and increased tap limits to accommodate payments up to $250. These initiatives fall under the YWG Clean Program, a multi-layered, continually-expanding approach to provide a healthy airport environment for all.
