Winnipeg Airports Authority is conducting a security exercise at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport on Wednesday, September 14, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

During the exercise, travellers, visitors, and airport employees may see personnel, emergency vehicles, and airport equipment on the airfield and along the terminal, but they should not be alarmed. Only authorized personnel will be admitted into the exercise area. Airport operations will not be impacted as a result of the exercise.

Notice about the exercise will be posted throughout the terminal and on YWG’s social media channels.

WAA runs regular exercises throughout the year to test protocols, procedures, communications, and planning for emergency and security-related incidents. Several organizations, including airport stakeholders and emergency response personnel, are involved in the planning and implementation of these exercises.
